Between lake and Prealps the region swings between two dominant regimes: the northeasterly bise, which quickly makes the upper lake turbulent, and southwesterly flow announcing the fronts. In between, fine days set up steady thermal breezes on the slopes above Villeneuve, Vevey and the Gruyère.
