High valleys and many passes: Graubünden combines pronounced breeze systems (the Maloja wind in the Engadine is the famous example) with foehn exposure in both directions. East-west valleys spin up quickly on gradient days.
The network leans on the SLF ridge masts, completed by the MeteoSwiss valley stations: crest and valley floor can be read together before launching at Davos, Lenzerheide or Scuol.
